OUR STORY IS YOUR STORY. Every human being experiences birth. Despite all of our differences and conflicts, we each entered the world because of reproduction.
WRHA exists to make discussions about reproduction – from the ways that humans attempted to control fertility in ancient times to the Women’s Health Movement of the 1970s, from gender identity to the history of maternity care – part of everyday conversation. Reproduction is worth thinking about, learning about, and talking about.
When we connect with women in the past we get to know ourselves better. When we acknowledge untold and ignored reproductive histories, we create a present that is more generous, more honest, and more caring.
